A Flower, a Thought, and a Cat

That was one fine May evening. I was out for my evening loitering when I saw this beauty.
Luckily, I had my phone with me to capture the moment; I just clicked without thinking much.
Days later, when I was going through the photos, I stopped at the picture and thought to myself, “Doesn't this flower look too cool, even though it is different from the rest in the background? Doesn't that make it even more special?” I nodded in affirmation.

It was a bloom among blooms.

And that's the point.

Dang! This applies to us too~ I mean, just like the flower, we stand out in our own ways.... look around you ~ there are people who differ from you in a multitude of ways: thoughts, situations, experiences, dressing styles, taste in food, favorite films and songs, being a cat person or a dog person… or a suspiciously committed goldfish fan.

And I think that's what makes this world a wonderful place.
Moments like these ask us to give it a thought... about the beauty in differences, in nature, and in ourselves.

We’ve come so far as people ~ technology, art, travel, you name it. But somewhere along the way, we forget the simplest thing: to actually appreciate differences. I wish people would start appreciating more.

Recognise the bigness of small things.

What next? Nothing… much. I was distracted by a cat at my window, only to follow it around, discovering that the cat, by the way, didn’t care for my philosophy. It just wanted kibbles.

Still, I like to think the cat secretly appreciated my insights… maybe.
